What's New in LifeLine 8

LifeLine 8 began shipping in January 2006.   This next generation of LifeLine added more features, new reports and futher addressed the needs of our users.  Here is a list of the new features that were added to LifeLine 8.

Many new features have been added to LifeLine 8, all suggested by our users.  The list below provides a summary of features and changes that have been added since the previous version (LifeLine 2003, Version 7).

New Fields Added

Constituent Record.  Many new fields have been added to the Constituent Record.  For Individual Constituents a new Tab on the Constituent Form has been added for Contact information.

        Individual record for Person 1 and Person 2
            *    Employer
            *    Cell Phone, Pager, Other Phone, Home Fax
            *    Directory Name, Directory Sort Key.  The Directory Name field is auto filled with the names of Person 1 and Person 2 (if entered) in the form used in a directory listing (Last, First).  These fields can be customized but can not be blank.

        Individual record for Person 2
           
*    Home phone, Work Phone, Home Email, Home Web Site    
            *    Work Email, Work Web Site

        Organization (non-individual) record
           
*    Middle Name, Second Phone
            *    Full Name.  This field is auto filled with the Contact full name.  This field can be customized but can not be blank.
            *    Directory Name, Directory Sort Key.  The Directory Name field is auto filled with the name of the organization. These fields can be customized but can not be blank.

        For All Constituent Records
           
*    Label Line 1 & Label Line 2.  These 2 new fields allow you to specify the exact text that should appear on the first 2 lines of the mailing labels.  During the entry of a new individual constituent record, Label Line 1 & 2 are automatically filled in with the name of Person 1 as Label Line 1 and the name of Person 2 (if entered) as Label Line 2.  During the entry of a new organization constituent record Label Line 1 is filled in with the contact name and Label Line 2 is filled in with the organization name.  If either of the Label Line fields is filled in the content of each will be used to form the first 2 lines of the mailing labels.  These Label Line fields can be customized or left blank.
            *    On the Donations Tab, First Gift Date and First Gift Amount

New Features

On the Constituent Record form
   
*    The “Donor” and “Spouse” designations on the Individual Tab have been replaced with “Person 1” and “Person 2”, and can be customized by the user.
    *    When adding donations and pledges the Date, Payment Method, Description, Account, and Source Code are “remembered” from one entry to the next.  The “Clear Values” button can be used to remove these remembered values.

Find
   
*    Find now always begins at the top of the constituent list and repeatedly searches toward the end.  There is no longer a “Previous” button.
    *    You can now FIND by: Phone contains, Donor ID, Email address.  The Phone Find searches the phone numbers of both Person 1 and Person 2.  The Email Find searches the emails of both Person 1 and Person 2.

Pledges
   
*    Number of Pledge Payments for a single pledge has been increased from 96 to 120.
    *    Multiple pledges can be made to the same Pledge Drive .

Family module.  A new Family module has been added.  A Family could be a father-mother-children-relatives relationship or a business-employees relationship.  The user defines the families and the relationships.

Contact Log module.  A new Contact Log module has been added.

New Report Options  
   
*    The Manage Donations report now has 3 new options for selecting donations: you can select a donation amount range, whether to include Anonymous gifts, and specify a Solicitor Code.
    *    A new Export Format has been added – ASCII comma only format.
    *    The Cumulative Donations report now allows a donation amount range.  Previously it was just donations over some amount.

New Reports
   
*    New Email Report -- Prints name and email or exports emails only in comma-only format for records that have an email address.
    *    Three (3) new Directory Name Reports
    *    New Donation Report – Compare totals given in 2 time periods for all or selected accounts, listing the constituents and the amounts for each time period and the difference between the two periods.
    *    New Donations by Donation Solicitor – reports on the donations recorded for solicitors on the donation record (not the solicitor on the constituent record).
    *    New Donation Company Matches – reports the donations (not pledge payments) that are to be matched by a company in a time period.

New System Menu options  
   
*    User can globally change Source Codes, Solicitor Codes, Region Codes
    *    User can globally delete Source Codes, Solicitor Codes, Region Codes
    *    Payment Methods are now user defined
